My name is
Francis Lenehan and I am a qualified Humanistic and
Integrative Psychotherapist. I am based in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid.
I am Irish but
have also lived in Britain and Spain as well as other countries and so I am
familiar with some of the challenges of living and adjusting to a foreign
culture.
How do I work?
Humanistically
and Integratively.
However, I
believe and research shows that the core component of successful therapy is the
level of connection and quality of relationship between the client and
therapist. The ability of the client and therapist to work together is what's
important to facilitate change.
Humanistically
means that I will try to find out who you are, about your unique journey through
life. By treating you as a unique human being and not defining you only by
'what's wrong with you',
you can be yourself and develop a deeper personal awareness of who you really
are. It is from this place of increased personal awareness and self acceptance
that you can bring about real personal change and growth.
Integratively
refers to integration on all levels. Firstly, as an integrative
psychotherapist, I have studied a number of different psychological approaches.
This allow me not to be restricted by approach but rather use what I feel is of
most suited to you and your personal situation.
Integration also
refers to the balance between thinking, emotion and the body and how they can
affect your overall wellbeing. By developing a deeper awareness of how your
thinking, emotions and your relationship with your body may be impacting your
life, you can then make more informed decisions and so be able to live your life
more fully and joyfully.
Who do I work
